HAVE FUN CLEANING WITH YOUR KIDS

When I was a little girl, well from the time I can remember my mom would ask me to help when she cleaned. I loved to help, as most kids do. She would get a rag damp and then grab a dry one. She would have me dust and wipe down whatever my little heart thought needed a dusting. It was a great way to instill the value of cleaning and what it meant to keep a clean room and a clean house. Don't get me wrong my mom didn't have me scrubbing floors and cleaning every day. She made it fun and she made me feel like I was doing something to help and something that gave me pride at a young age. She would turn on the radio or put on a cassette tape then turn the volume all the way up and we would dance and sing and clean. I am a mother of a beautiful little girl named London. I have always kept a clean house and wanted to pass on the fun and importance of taking pride in your house and caring for your toys, etc. The best part of having a child these days is that the Swiffer dusters were invented!!!! She loves to Swiffer, ever since she was as little as 2. I have the extender model and the hand duster and the 6' extender. She loves to use all of them and is very helpful when we clean. I make a spray bottle with a couple drops of dawn soap and water. I give her some rags and her own spray bottle. Not only is it a time for us to turn up our favorite songs and dance and sing around the house, it is a bonding time with my daughter that neither of us feel like is a chore. This was passed down from my grandmother to my mother to me and now to my daughter. The simple things can make lasting memories.
